Super Bowl LI Week

Super Bowl LI Week

Today marks the beginning of Super Bowl week! This year Super Bowl LI matches the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots are trying to extend their recent dominance with their 5th Super Bowl win, while the Falcons are trying to win just their first! What will be the prevailing story line following Super Bowl LI?

Last year the Denver Broncos defense overwhelmed the Carolina Panthers, and immediately Von Miller gained national fame. As the MVP of the Super Bowl, Miller traveled the country capitalizing on his new found fame! SportsDisplays saw a surge in framed Von Miller and other Denver Broncos jerseys.

So what will be the primary story line on February 6th? The obvious one to start with is Tom Brady who hopes to add to his Super Bowl legacy by becoming the first quarterback to win his 5th (!!) Super Bowl! That, plus the fact that Brady has been the at the heart of the Deflategate scandal, gives Brady extra motivation in his 7th Super Bowl! Imagine the drama of Goodell handing Brady the Lombardi trophy if the quarterback can lead New England past Atlanta!

On the Falcons side, the two obvious story lines would be Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. After torching the Green Bay Packers for 180 yards and two touchdowns, you know Bill Belichick will be game planning to stop Jones. It seems to be a foregone conclusion that Ryan is going to win the 2016 MVP, what better cherry on top than to end the season with a win over arguably the greatest QB of all-time?

Going into last years Super Bowl, we knew all about the great Broncos defense, but the primary story lines were focused on Cam Newton and Peyton Manning. Who could be a surprise pick this year? Chris Hogan, Julian Edelman or Dion Lewis for the Patriots? Vic Beasley, Devonta Freeman or Tevin Coleman for the Falcons? Stay tuned! Should be a great game!!
